In Heaven

Did You Wake Up in Heaven

Did you wake up in Heaven?
Did the sun shine bright on your smile?
Did the angels surround you and hold your hand,
While birds sang in soft lullabies?
And somehow the sorrow that followed you home,
This letting go of all you have known,
Will be lifted to the heights
Where everything’s lightened by love.

If rainbows come down from heaven
To shine like a bridge into time,
Maybe there’s some way to show us,
Somehow to send us a sign.
We’ll watch in the dawn for the first light.
We’ll wait when the sunset gets quiet and still.
We’ll listen to the wind for your laughter,
Like a breath of Eternity’s will.

If only our hands could still hold you.
If only our ears could still hear.
We just need to see you and know you’re near,
So love can heal our deepest fear,
And return the Light to our lives.

We remember our hope is Heaven.
We remember the heart is our home.
The dreams that keep breathing our light and love
Hold the sound that surrounds all our souls.
And though the whole journey seems dark and long,
Everyone’s singing the same sacred song,
That reunion’s more real than what anyone feels
Is right or wrong.

If only our hands could still hold you.
If only our ears could still hear.
We just need to see you and know you’re near,
So love can heal our deepest fear,
And return the Light to our lives.
